A Bend in the Road
When we feel we have nothing left to give
And we are sure that the song has ended,
When our day seems over and the shadows fall
And the darkness of night has descended.
Where can we go to find the strength
To valiantly keep on trying?
Where can we find the hand
That will dry the tears that the heart is crying?
There's but one place to go
And that is to God and,
Dropping all pretense and pride,
We can pour out our problem without restraint
And gain strength with Him at our side.
And together we stand at life's crossroads
And view what we think is the end,
But God has a much bigger vision
And He tells us it's only a bend.
For the road goes on and is smoother,
And the pause in the song is a rest,
And the part that's unsung and unfinished
is the sweetest and richest and best.
So rest and relax and grow stronger,
Let go and let God share your load,
Your work is not finished or ended,
You've just come to a bend in the road.
Living Life
Life is not a race - but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say "thank you," "I love you" and "great job" to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental - search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be, Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it fees the soul. Take time for youself - plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment.

Look to the Lighhouse of the Lord
There is no fog so dense,
no night so dark,
no gale so strong,
no mariner so lost
but what its beacon light
can rescue.
It beckons through
the storms of life.
It calls,
"This way to safety;
this way to home."
The lighthouse of the
Lord sends forth signals
readily recognized and
never failing.

I Can Only Imagine
Clara Martinez, my sweet and kind mother in law

Ellen Gladys Towne Eid, my beloved grandmother and best friend

Ellen Gladys Towne Eid, my beloved grandmother and best friend
This year I have lost several people to death whom I love dearly - whom I desperately long to be with, whom I miss tremendously, whom I yearn to talk to, whom I selfishly wish were still here. This song makes me wonder what things were like for them to meet God, and what it will be like for me someday. I can only imagine . . .
Where's The Line to See Jesus
Julian told me about this song after he heard it on the radio on the way home from work. It brought tears to his eyes as he learned of the evolution of the song, and then reflected on how much we get detracted from Christ by the commercialism of Christmas. This song helped me consider my focus on the Savior during this time of year and how I can serve him to show my love and gratitude to him. Hope you enjoy it! Grab a tissue :)

Well, it's the Christmas season, and I've come across some songs that have really been meaningful to me, so I thought this would be a good place to post them so I can find them easily later. Hope you enjoy them.

Free Color Safe Clorox bleach
Yesterday I had a fun find. I took my mother in law to Kmart to get prescriptions and other items. She wanted to buy 4 gallons of Clorox bleach, which was on sale. Next to the bleach there were coupons for a free regular bleach if you bought a Color Safe Clorox bleach. But Color Safe was $7.99, so it didn't seem worth it. BUT - I saw the Color Safe bleaches had tags on them with Free After Rebate certificates on them. So we each bought a Clorox Color Safe bleach that will be free after rebate, then got a free regular Clorox on the spot. Almost $10 worth for the cost of a stamp. Not bad! Go get yours today!

Free Toothpaste at Rite Aid
Just thought I would mention that today I got Crest ProHealth Enamel Shield toothpast (4.2 oz) Free after rebate at Rite Aid. However, it didn't ring up at the $2.69 it was supposed to (it rang up at $3.69). Another gal there was also buying the same thing, so we mentioned the discrepancy to the cashier, the manager called someone, and they agreed to ring it up at the sale price. Worth asking for, cuz now it is FREE. I will add it to the eight toothpastes on the shelf in my basement food storage area, and when we run out of toothpaste upstairs, we can just go down to our "store" and get a FREE one. The sale is only good until the end of the week, so get yours right away!
